Compare the cost model before the headline price.
Clay separates Actions from Data Credits. Actions measure platform work; Data Credits pay for marketplace data and AI. Bringing your own provider key can remove the Data Credit charge, but Actions still apply and the provider bills separately. Clay’s Actions & Data Credits guide.
On 2026-11-01, Clay’s published displays differed: the Launch card shows $167/month while the plan FAQ says starting at $185/month. The card’s monthly credit selector shows 3K Data Credits; the FAQ says 2,500. The page has monthly and annual selectors. These displays do not establish a consistent checkout quote. Confirm billing interval, selected capacity and final allowance with Clay. Clay pricing.
Apollo uses credits across platform activities. Its pricing FAQ says credits are pooled across the team and unused credits expire each billing cycle. Added credits renew each cycle until removed. The page fetched on 2026-11-01 did not provide a clear paid-plan amount. Apollo pricing and credit terms.
For either tool, price the same job: target records, required fields, research, exports, sending and people who need access. Record the plan, billing interval, usage allowances and external costs in your trial notes. A cheaper subscription alone does not establish a cheaper completed workflow.
Where Coil fits.
Coil is an agent-operated outbound platform for founder-led B2B teams. If your working setup is Sales Navigator, a spreadsheet and Instantly, start by identifying which part you want an agent to operate. Coil does not currently ship a general Instantly connector.
Humans use the web app; connected agents use the REST API, the JSON CLI (@usecoil/cli) and runtime skills. Recipes hold reusable steps, and runs retain execution state. Supported workflows include Sales Navigator scraping through Apify, OpenRouter transforms and a configured SmartLead handoff. See the agent interface and recipes.
Coil has no built-in email sender. Agents can draft workflows and run permitted published work; human admins manage credentials and publish recipes. Choose Coil for agent-operated scraping, qualification and SmartLead handoff with human publication controls.
Coil is $0 during open beta. Provider bills remain separate, including scraping, sending, verification, enrichment and an optional agent runtime where used. The $0 price applies during open beta. See current Coil pricing.
